A Day Off-Roading

Originally we wanted to rent Jeeps and go on the Fins and Things trail, but we weren't able to come to consensus of what to do about it. So we decided that we would go on an easy trail with our own 4WD vehicles. The trail Jesse suggested was Gemini Bridges. It's a really simple trail, but I remember back when we went on this trail when we were first married and I was totally nervous the whole time. Haha.
But it was so easy that Jesse let Ryker take the wheel. Jesse was controlling the gas and break pedals, but Ryker was so excited to be able to drive.
Near the end of the trail we stopped to walk around. Of course Cy and Sterling found "The Dragon's Heart" (as they called it) and wanted to "kill it". Haha. But before we know it, he came running out to Jesse crying so hard. Through his tears he tried to explain that he had smashed his finger with the rock. Oh the poor thing. He is a tough boy, but he was really hurting. Within a few hours it was swollen and purple. I thought for sure he had broken it, but he could still move it.

I thought these two munchkins were cute all bundled up in their car seats.
Almost the whole family. Photo credit goes to Tyson.

It's hard to tell that we are standing on Gemini Bridges. So cool. I just love Moab.
The scenery there is just breath taking. No matter how many times I have been there, I just can't get enough of it. Tayler was telling us that she got into a conversation with a girl while they were flying to Vegas. The girl mentioned that she thought Utah was so ugly because of the dessert and such. Tyler asked where she had been (thinking she hadn't been to the right place). She said that her husband's family went to Moab all the time and she hated it. My jaw dropped when I heard that. How can she think that? Moab is so uniquely beautiful.
We continued on passed Gemini Bridges and made our way onto highway 191, eventually finding Long Canyon to shortcut through back to Potash Road. It was a road that we had never done before and it was so fun exploring it. Again nothing technical, but just beautiful.
Jesse let Cy take the wheel for a bit. But it wasn't until the end of the trail that he did.

This was the highlight of this trail. Just seeing this huge slab of rock that had fallen at one point. As we approached it, it didn't seem like we'd be able to fit. But there was plenty of clearance.
When we got back to the condo we just made dinner and hung out. Nothing to major.
