Taking advantage of the last day of our fabulous Christmas break (wink wink) by taking the boys to a movie. But before that we have spent the past day and a half cleaning up our house. It was such a disaster. It was very cleansing to de-junk and de-clutter some clothes, toys, closets and drawers. With the chaos of Christmas and Fynn being in the hospital for 2 nights, our house fell apart.
My flu had set in, but it didn't affect me nearly to the agree that it did the boys (especially Jesse and Fynn). And even though I just really wanted to rest I pushed through and cleaned up the house with everyone else.
I felt bad for the boys that they didn't really get to play very much over Christmas Break since we were all sick. So after we got things in the house picked up , we took them to a matinee movie to wrap up our last day of the break.
Jesse and I both felt very grateful that Fynn is well enough to be sitting through a movie with us. To think 3 days ago he was barely responsive to us, and now he's back to his bubbly cute self. He still sounds raspy, especially when he laughs or cries.
Sure 2017 didn't seem like it ended all that great. But starting out 2018 I have so many things to be thankful for. The silver linings in our not ideal Christmas Break are many.
-Jesse had 8 days off that he wanted to do a bunch of fun things with the boys, but was sick with them all instead. But the nice thing is that he was off and that he could be home with the boys.
-Yes, Fynn was in the hospital, but he could have been intubated and stayed much longer.
-I feel like if we would have gone to the doctors office instead of going straight to the hospital Fynn could have lost his airway. He was losing it fast when they were already at the hospital, but he was being watched.
-Mike and Heidi were able to be readily available to aid us in anyway.
-It felt like a terrible thing, but looking back at it I can see the Lord's hand in it. I grateful to Him for watching out for us.
