Day 2 (05/07)

After breakfast Jesse drove down to Hunter and talked with a couple that was packing up their stuff and he was able to take their spot. HOORAY!!! He paid, left our ticket there and put our popup canopy there so we could reserve it while we were packing up our other campsite.

Of course it took way longer than we thought it would to pack everything back up and unpack it again and set up camp. Phew. So much work.
The boys were helpful most of the time, but they would get tired and /or hungry and start to melt down. Which thinned our patience.
And they were so excited to explore the new area. Which I don't blame them. It was SOO much better.
 Setting up the tent... AGAIN.
While the boys were exploring they found this really cool caterpillar. And they were in heaven. He really was a cute little fuzzy thing.
Haha, Cy doesn't look very happy but he really was. He was so focused on the caterpillar that he only gave me a half smile.

After setting everything up and having lunch we needed to go into town to get some gas and actually do something fun for the day. And guess what? It was the day of our 11th anniversary. YAY!!! Can't believe I've been so lucky to be with him for this long. He's so good to me and couldn't ask for a better match.
We wanted to go on a hike, but the day was soon over, so we picked the shortest one we could find in Arches. Haha. We picked Double O Arch because it was 0.5 miles... round trip. Haha. But we needed something easy for the kiddos and so we could get back before dark to cook dinner.

Of course Cy fell asleep on the ride there so he wasn't acting quite sleepy when we first got out. So Jesse gave him a shoulder ride. If anyone could do double duty it's Jesse. Sheesh, he backpack with Fynn in it is heavy enough foe me let alone adding a 40lb kid on top of that. Wowzer!
Such a cool Arch.

The boys and I climbed up into the little arch to get a picture and they both were super nervous. Which made me nervous, but they would never know. One part of the other side was a sheer drop off  and I happened to sitting on it at one point and didn't even know.

That whole evening as we were driving to and from Arches we were reminiscing about our first visit to Moab as a young couple and just basking in the joy of how we have grown as a couple and as a family. Moab still is and forever will be one of our favorite places to go. Only thing is we are bummed that it's far more popular than it was even 5 years ago.
