Cy's 4th tooth is starting to poke through on top. For some time he's just had the two on bottom and the one on top. We found it comical to watch him center that top tooth over the bottom two teeth and tap them together. It looked like he had a crooked smile.
He's a very happy, easy going kid. He doesn't say much, but he sure knows how to communicate in his own way. Lately he's mastered signing 'more'. He went form clapping his hands to tapping his fingertips together in the proper form. It's really cute to see this. Cy just picked up signing 'please'. So he can now sign 'more please'.
We are working on signing 'Thank you' but since he mimics the sounds we don't know if he'll ever start to sign it. We tell him to say Thank You and he says it (in his own way). It's hard to describe without actually hearing it.
The past few weeks Cy has shown more interest in walking. But it's really only when he WANTS to do it. He can crawl SO fast that he is probably thinking 'Why should I walk?..It takes forever to get where I want to go'.
In return for the continuous crawling (even outside on the sidewalks) he has the most calloused knees I have ever seen on a baby. Worse than an elbow. His knees feel like elephant skin.
This picture can hardly show or do any justice to how calloused they are.
Today I took him in for his 15 month check up. While we were waiting in the check up room I took a few pictures of him while he was walking and crawling and playing around waiting for Dr. Reese to come in.
They must have been running behind or something because we waited in there for almost 40 minutes. There isn't much to entertain a toddler while waiting.
But the spinning stool kept him entertained for a good amount of time. He'd push the seat around letting it spin while he be saying "ewwhhhhh".
When the Doc finally came in he said Cy is looking great. He confirmed to me that Cyrus had had Hand, Foot and Mouth. His sores were healing up nicely. Apparently it's been going around alot this summer. No fun.
Stats:
Weight: 22lbs---16% (He had lost a pound or two from not eating very well the last week from having Hand, Foot and Mouth)
Height: 31in---44%
Head: 48 1/2 cm--- 84% (He has lots of brains in that big head)
He's a skinny little man with a large noggin. I don't think he looks as skinny as his stats say he is. But he definitely isn't chubby. I personally think he's just perfect. The doctor wasn't worried about his weight one bit. He said it's just the way Cy is built.
